The way to forgive, and immorality:
The Catholic Church needs' to strart practiceing what it preaches. How it can it ask for forgiveness of its' mistakes, when the church it self fails to be mercyful and forgiveing. Treating every disbelief, or dissent from church dogma as being sin. Are people acting immoral? Sure they are, but believe it or not so are priests and bishops, believing that they are acting for God are they themselves acting immoraly. The church is blinded by it's belief of moral supremecy. So when it screws up it has a diffuclut time asking the people for forgiveness. It finds' it difficult to swallow it's pride and admit it made a mistake. The first step in forgiveness is recoginizeing that a mistake,"sin", was made and corrective action need's to be taken. The next step is in humility takeing action to corect the mistake. The third step is to ask for forgiveness if nessasary. Fourth step is to do pennance, this the same for a person or a church.
The Catholic church has a obligation to preach against immorality, but it must also be the first to preach understanding and forgiveness. The church has a right to preach against homosexuality, but it must be the reconciler between the way of God and the way of sin and immorality. The church should as in the case of homosexuality preach, that homosexuality is immoral. But it should also preach why it is immoral and ask that any who expreiance homosexuality repent and ask the lord for forgiveness. The church should be welcomeing of all sinners who seek to repent their ways. The church should be a teacher first, and a insitution second. It is the personal and not the impersonal that people should expect in church. The people come looking for a personal experiance with the diveine either throught their faith in the saints' or looking for faith in the lord.
The church believeing in it's own supremecy fails to help sinners repent by it self not showing mercy or forgiveness of those who stray from church doctrine. This is it self a critical mistake since who can be forgiven if they themselves cannot forgive. It is not the way of the divine to forgive merely because someone asks, but proves themselves worthy of forgiveness through action of pennance, and forgiveness.
