The Reclusive Pilgrim

This a blog of my thoughts on politics, religion, philosophy. I am a reclusive pilgrim searching for the meaning of life and the higher power of goodness, in this world . My desire is to share my thoughts of what I have discovered through experience.

The lost thirst for Liberty:

America has lost it's thirst for individual liberty, it's spirit, and drive for freedom. We preach the idea's of Liberty but we no longer thirst for liberty. The encroachment of government in every part of daily life has led to a greater threat to Democracy and the very institutions that are suppose to guard and protect society.
Thirst for liberty? How can man thirst for that which he rarely thinks to desires? Man is burdened by the need to provide for his family. Man is taxed by a government that all ways seeks to expand and grow, and by the costs and demands made by the marketplace. There is no thirst for Liberty because man has his wants and needs met. But does he? Man has sport. Man is able to loose himself in sport. Sport becomes the distraction that man can use to forget his struggles and burdens. Man had politics as a a distraction from his daily struggles. But underneath he had the thirst and desire for liberty. In reality there was a thirst for two types of freedoms. Man thirsts to be free from the burden of working every day to support himself, and man thirsts to be free to be himself.
The hardest thing to do as a individual is to restore to America that founding spirit that made America great. That spirit was the desire and thirst shared by all for liberty, for the pursuit of peace, and happiness.
